The Sar pass is in Parvati Valley of Kullu district of Pradesh. Sar, in the local dialect, means a lake. While trekking, across the path from Tila Lotni to Biskeri Ridge, one has to pass by a small, frozen lake (Sar) and therefore the name Sar Pass Trek emerged. The Sar pass trek, offering an implicit adventure and is suggested for beginners and temperate trekkers. The trail takes you through an ordination of picturesque grasslands and forests conjugated with steep rocky terrain and snow patches. Trek route emerges from Kasol and goes through Grahan, Ratta Pani, Nagaru and Barsheni.

Day 01 Kasol to Grahan Village (10 kilometers)

Starting our adventurous journey into the mountains we are heading towards Grahan- The magic honey village. The route towards the village takes you through dense pine forests, meadows and the mighty Parvati River. After a steep climb you get into the village situated on the top of the hill. The people here are mostly into honey gathering. The trek is easy but has some ascents and descents; and will take you up to 4-5 to compete. The place offers you the breath-taking views of Mother Nature. Overnight stay will be at camps.

Day 02 Grahan to Min Thach (7 kilometers)

After having some delicious breakfast we will start trekking towards Min Thach. The route which takes us to Min Thach is usually used by the village people. We will trek through deep trails and dense woods leading us to grassland which is Min Thach. The trek will take you up to 4-5 hours to complete it. ‘Thach’-means meadow in local language of the mountain people. Overnight stay will be at camps.

Day 03 Min Thach to Nagaru (8 kilometers)

Post breakfast we will be heading towards Nagaru which doesn’t seem much far but isn’t easy or a straight walk. We will be crossing meadows, dense woods and ridges to reach the campsite. You may find snow in the winters and you need to start early to avoid slippery paths which happen due to the melting of snow after noon. Starting early in the morning gives you a less crowded and clear view. After a 5-6 hours trek, you finally reach a welcoming pastureland on the hill and this is Nagaru campsite. From here you can see snow clad mountains rising steeply across the Parvati valley. The town of Manikaran is also visible from here. Overnight stay will be at camps.

Day 04 Nagaru – Sar Pass – Biskeri Thach

Wake-up at the break of dawn to witness the glorious sunrise in the mountains, and also we need to start early as it is a long snow trail to cover today which will take you up to 7-8 hours. You will accomplish what you have come for today. You will witness the magnificent beauty of Mother Nature and you just can’t have enough of it. After a good snow hike you will reach Sar Pass. The lofty peaks of Tosh are clearly visible from here you feel a sense of achievement reaching the mountain top. Moving further as the climb is quite steep, the descend is a crazy slope. Yes, you will slide down the snow slopes and it is quite fun now to reach Biskeri. The slide will take you past snow covered trees, through a valley and bring into view to a lovely meadow. This is the camp site of Biskeri Thach, which is reached after crossing a few streams. There’s a surprisingly beautiful stream flowing in the backdrop of the campsite. Overnight stay will be at campsite.

Day 05 Biskeri Thach to Barsheni (10 Kilometers)

Today is the last day of our adventurous journey, after having some enticing breakfast we will start trekking towards the village of Parvati valley-Barsheni. The trail takes you through a steep path alongside a stream. After some time we will cross the stream and walk across a plot of land which will lead us into the dense woods. Moving further you have to rappel down a twenty feet of rock with the help of a rope and guidance of the trek leader. The pasture lands further will lead us into the view of twin villages which are separated by a stream. We will be crossing a bridge on the Parvati River and after a 4-5 hours trek finally we will reach our campsite-Barsheni the last village of Parvati Valley. After having lunch and resting for some time we will bid adieu to the beautiful Parvati valley, capturing all the memories of mountains we will drive back towards Kasol.
