Nag Tibba Trek

trip overview

Do you need a weekend-long trek to keep the stress levels down in our hectic schedules? – you have come to the right place! Pine forests, mountains in the background, and slate-roofed villages are what the small trek in the Shivalik range of the lower Himalayas is all about. The best time to do the Nag Tibba trek is post-monsoon, that is from October to March. The Gangotri, Banderpoonch, Kalanaag (the Black Peak), and many more of these peaks will peek at you when you walk on the forest trail. It is common to sight diverse flora and fauna among the thick deodars.

The trekkers who have already been to this Nag Tibba can go for the Kedarkantha Trek which is based in Uttarakhand and the starting point of the Kedarkantha Trek is beautiful Sankri village.

Dehradun – Pantwari (1100m) – Nagtibba Base (2600m)

All group members will meet at Dehradun railway station early in the morning, board a vehicle and be driven up to Pantwari village via Mussoorie, starting point of the Nag Tibba Trek. From Pantwari, we will start the trek for Nag Tibba base. The trail is sensibly gentle and takes about 4-5 hours to cover it, moving at a leisurely pace. Make a pit stop en route for lunch. By early evening arrive at the campsite. Post arrival set up camp for the night. After a refreshing cup of tea/coffee explore the beautiful surroundings. In the night relish a sumptuous meal around a bonfire, under the star spangled sky; overnight stay in tents.

Nagtibba Base (2600m) – Nagtibba Top (3050m) – Jungle Campsite (2500m)

After a luxurious breakfast, we will set out on a moderate hike for about 2km to reach the Nag Tibba top (3050m). From here enjoy the majestic views of the snow clad mountain ranges of Garhwal and Himachal. You will get to see the famous Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Neelkanth, Black peak and many more peaks from here. Have a picnic lunch here and spend the whole afternoon relaxing. After a brief siesta hike for about 2-3km to reach today’s campsite. In the evening collect dry wood and get a small bonfire going. Enjoy your freshly prepared dinner and crash into your sleeping bags in tents.
