Day 01: Manali – Local City Tour

So, your bike trip starts from Manali the beautiful city of Himachal Pradesh. Our team will meet you in Manali in the morning. Freshen up and brace yourselves to start your adventurous ride.Our team will provide you with every detail and all tiny information about the routes, maps, destinations, rules & regulations and also, guide you for improving riding skills for high altitude Himalayan roads. Today is your acclimatization day so you will be taking a ride of the city. Witnessing picturesque places of Manali with some amazing mythological stories behind those temples and monasteries. Enjoy the appetizing local food of Manali and night stay at the hotel.


Day 02: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Jispa (140 km/ 8 hrs)

After having a delectable breakfast, we will be heading towards Jispa crossing Rohtang Pass (13000 ft above sea level). Rohtang Pass – The incredible paradise and nature’s most beautiful gift to the country. One of the highest pass of the Himalayas which connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh. We will be riding along thecharming beauty of these Valleys and Chandra & Bhaga Rivers. Jispa (12000ft) located 20 km north of Keylong whoseriverside and Himalayan mountain views will leave you stunned. On arriving at Jispa we will have some hot yummy dinner, overnight stay will be at Jispa in camps under the luminous star studded sky.


Day 03: Jispa – Baralacha Pass – Pang (160 km/ 7 hrs)

Today, is the 3rd day of our adventurous trip after a healthy breakfast, we will start riding towards Pang crossing Baralacha La (16500 ft) the third highest motorable pass in the world. This is going to be one thrilling ride, a mixture of scary and mesmerizing feelings. The ride will take us through two amazingly beautiful lakes: Deepak Tal & Suraj Tal. Deepak Tal is a small manmade lake near Patseo having its own mesmerizing beauty whereas Suraj Tal Lake is the second highest lake in India and 21st highest lake in the world is the origin of Bhaga River, a tributary of the Chenab River. The Chandra River originates from moon shaped lake; Chandra Lake. On reaching Pang you will witness the uncommon looking soil formations on the mountains and the special colors of Ladakh, which will make you, feel dreamy. Arriving at Pang, the overnight stay will be in camp.


Day 04: Pang – Leh (175 km/ 7hrs)

Waking up to a beautiful morning in the Himalayas, we will start riding towards Leh; post breakfast. The ride will take you along the high altitude pass;Tanglang La nestled at an altitude of 17480 ft above the sea level. On reaching Leh check-in at the hotel for an overnight stay.


Day 05: Leh – Khardungla pass – Nubra Valley (160 km / 6hrs)

Today is the 5th day of our adventure trip and its going to be the most adventurous day of the whole trip. After having a delicious breakfast we will start riding towards the world’s highest motorable road in the world – Khardungla Pass, located in the Ladakh range situated at an altitude of 18,380 ft. The ride takes you through some amazingly charming and attractive views of valleys. In addition, Tibetan prayer flags add numerous colors to the scenic beauty. Khardungla is a very significant Historical place of major caravan route from Leh to Kashgar. Bikers from all over the world visit this mountain pass on their motorcycles and do mountain biking which is a refreshing and remarkable experience for a lifetime. Further, we will ride towards Nubra Valley, arriving at Nubra overnight stay will be at the hotel.


Day 06: Nubra Valley – Leh (160 km / 6 hrs)

After having a healthy yummy breakfast we will explore the beauty of this charming Nubra Valley – The Himalayan desert. Nubra Valley is also known as the ‘Orchard of the desert’. Nubra is tri-armed valley located to the north east of Ladakh valley, a place all covered with sand dunes, monasteries and a ruined palace. The beauty of this cold desert is a treat for eyes. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.


Day 07: Leh – Pangong Tso Lake – Leh (320 km /10hrs)

Today, we will be heading towards the mystical blue beauty – Pangong Tso Lake. Today is a break from the exhausting bike ride, so we will be visiting this lake by sharing a car. Pangong Tso is one of the largest brackish lakes in Asia; situated at a height of 14000 feet, the lake is 130 km long, 45 km of which lies in India while the remaining stays in China. It is Shaded from an ink blue to a turquoise to an aquamarine to a purple to other brilliant colors. During winter the lake freezes completely despite being saline water. It is the place where the climax scene of the blockbuster bollywood movie “Three Idiots” was shot. Returning back to Leh overnight stay will be at hotel post dinner.


Day 08: Leh – Sarchu (250 km / 9hrs)

Returning back, we will ride towards Sarchu, it is a major halt point with tented accommodation in the Himalayas on the Leh-Manali Highway, on the boundary between Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh (Jammu and Kashmir) in India. It is situated between Baralacha La to the south and Lachulung La to the north, at an altitude of 4,290 m (14,070 ft). Overnight stay in the camps at Sarchu.


Day 09: Sarchu – Manali (222 km / 8-9 hrs)

So, it’s time to bid adieu to this beautiful place and start riding back towards Manali, from where we started this adventurous journey. On arriving at Manali check in to your hotel room and take rest post dinner.

Q. What riding gear do I need for Ladakh trip?
A. This is the kind of trip riding gear is made for. Get a riding jacket, pants, shoes, gloves and full face helmet. Keep in mind that all of your riding gear should be good to go against rain, hail and snow.

Q. Do I need to carry thermal wear?
A. Yes, there will be very cold, so it is advisory to carry thermal wear.

Q. What kind of food you provide during the trip?
A. We provide food for 2 times in a day i.e. Breakfast & Dinner.

Q. Do I need to carry any documents with me?
A. Carry an original Driving Licence card and a passport size photograph.

Q. Is there any lack of oxygen during the trip?
A. Anybody traveling 10,000 feet above sea level will find difficulty in breathing or is likely to fall prey to altitude sickness. It happens due to a low level of atmospheric oxygen. The biggest cause of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) is dehydration. People on the trip forget to drink enough water, they just keep on riding.
To beat AMS, take the following steps:
1. Drink lots and lots of water mixed with glucose.
2. Take everything slowly. Even little labor at high altitudes will leave you spent.
3. Take one Diamox at Manali on the morning when you leave for Leh. Diamox takes one hour to start working.
4. Don’t push too hard, take the trip slow. Ascent slowly, decent slowly.
5. If you feel the symptoms creeping up, stop and take some rest. Don’t keep pushing.

Q. Which language speaks in Ladakh?
A. Ladakhi people speak local Ladakhi language though all of them understand Hindi with some of them (city dwellers) understand English too.

Q. What about money exchange, can we use Debit/credit cards?
A. Money can be exchanged only in Leh town, you can also use debit/credit card in few of the reputed shops and hotels but at additional 2% service tax.
